YYK Europe Ltd, the European division of the Japanese fastener and zipper manufacturer has a long history of supporting emerging talent in the field of fashion. Now it continued this trend by announcing its sponsorship of the 2017 Professional Clothing Awards’ (PCA) Project 20/20… And Beyond Young Design Awards.
The awards recognise talented up-coming fashion designers from universities, colleges and fashion schools across the country. The coming year’s challenge is to give us all a glimpse of the future by designing professional clothing (corporatewear, workwear and PPE) for the Year 3000.
The PCA is among the most important competitions for designers in the UK.
In addition to sponsoring the awards, YKK will also be offering the YKK Award of a £1,000 cash prize to the best design from students who incorporate at least one of YKK’s fastenings.
‘YKK are really excited to be sponsoring Project 20/20’ – says Hitoshi Yamaguchi, General Marketing Manager for YKK Europe. ‘It is exciting to work with young designers and to create new usage of fastening products with them by YKK’s product offering.’
The winners will be announced on Wednesday 21st June 2017.
