Welshpool based printing and branding specialists, We Are Promotional Products, were proud to take part in the Oswestry Half Marathon. Charging towards a £600 fundraising contribution, managing directors Dean Jones and Joshua Weaver, as well as marketing executive Adam Thomas took part in aid of local charity and education centre Derwen College.
The college, established by Dame Agnes Hunt, was set up 90 years ago with a specific focus on helping individuals with learning difficulties and disabilities. The college offers a variety of courses to study – including Hospitality and Catering, Retail and Business, Land-based Studies and Creative Studies. It also houses an on-site printing facility for students to learn about printing techniques.
We Are Promotional donated custom made T-shirts emblazoned with the college’s logo for all those running for them to help raise awareness on the day. In addition, they provided the branded merchandise, worth more than £400.
This was the first event of its kind in the local area, and boasted a notable ambassador in Amy Hughes, who currently holds the world record for most marathons completed in consecutive days – 53 in as many days, across Britain.
It was also a special personal milestone for Dean Jones as it was his very first half marathon. He did himself proud with a finishing time of 2 hours and 3 minutes.
