For the past year Bal Phillips, director of HR at Great Central Plastics, has been studying hard to earn her level 5 CIPD [Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development] qualification.
Now she can take a well-earned rest, passing the course with flying colours and becoming a CIPD Associate.
“It’s taken a fair bit of dedication as it’s a year of home study, as well as workshops you have to attend; which isn’t always easy to do when you’re working as well. However, I had a lot of support and interest from fellow colleagues, which kept me going,” said Bal.
“I went in at level 5, as it gave me the scope to develop as an individual and suited my day-to-day responsibilities. Although the modules were primarily based on HR, they also incorporated other, fundamental topics essential for any business actively working in the current economic climate, to meet organisational needs and retain talent.
“CIPD is a professional association for human resource management professionals and is globally recognised. This has given me the assurance and credibility required to ensure I can maximise the development and well-being of our staff at Great Central Plastics. We are focussed on them succeeding as individuals as well as delivering what our customers require from the GCP team collectively.”
“We would like to say congratulations to her for this fantastic achievement and all her hard work!” added technical director, Darryl Brown.
