Putting pen to paper has just taken a huge step into the digital world with the new, multi-award winning O2O Journal exclusively from Plusfile. Winner of the prestigious Convex award for Best New Product, the handy tool is part of a new generation of corporate gifts and features a SMART app to help creative end users to share their notes digitally.
“It’s essentially a standard Plusfile notebook with regular paper: you use a regular pen and you write on the page as you word normally,” explained Martin Markey. “But where this is different is that each book has a unique QR code. You simply download the app and input the code which gives you a digital version of your notebook as well, on your tablet, phone or PC.
“Not only does the branding appear on the physical version, but on the digital version too, so this is probably one of the few promotional products where you get two bites of the cherry, having your logo appear twice.”
With the digital notebook in place, a user simply photographs their handwritten notes with the camera on their digital device to upload them. Then the notes appear on the digital notebook and can be further edited with customised covers, printed inside pages, tip-ins, images, ad banners, catalogues, audio, video, games and more. All images are saved to a secure cloud.
“It’s not just a notebook, it’s much more of a marketing tool,” said Martin.
“I know it sounds corny, but I think once you say ‘this is the next generation of notebooks’ people start to really ‘get it’. People are always looking the next Big Product, and while the notebook sector is very successful, it’s also very full. This now stands out from the crowd.”
